Léa Batal, is the founder and Country Director of Kiron Lebanon. Léa has led the establishment and development of Kiron in Lebanon, recruited students to the initiative and started to expand the team in Lebanon. Thanks to Lea’s work, Kiron Lebanon has built a strong network of local, regional and international partners, ranging from universities (such as American University of Beirut, Beirut Arab University and King’s College London) to foundations and international NGOs, (such as SPARK, Paper Airplanes, Konrad Adenauer Foundation) and international development organizations (such as UNHCR and the Connected Learning in Crisis Consortium). With a Masters in International Economic Policy from SciencesPo Paris, Léa worked for the European League for Economic Cooperation, the United Nations and the French Agency for Development (AFD). At the AFD, Lea co-designed the French response to the refugee crisis in the Middle East under the ”SAWA Initiative”.
